It also indicates that active therapies are significantly more effective than hands-on methods like massages and manual therapy, which are often used alone in physiotherapy.

Given these results, active therapy options such as medical training should be considered a promising alternative or complement to passive treatments for back pain. The identified methods, particularly Pilates and strength training, should therefore be integrated into physiotherapy practices.
